University College Cork (UCC) energy researchers at its Science Foundation Ireland MaREI Centre have put together a ten-step practical guide to how Ireland can reduce fossil fuels by 10%
"Russia earned revenues of 240$bn in 2021 from fossil fuel sales to global markets allowing it to finance the invasion of Ukraine. Ireland is one of the most fossil fuel dependent countries in Europe requiring the energy equivalent of over 80 million barrels of oil a year. Measures we highlight if implemented this year could reduce Ireland's fossil fuel use by 10%" commented Paul Deane, senior researcher in clean energy futures with the MaREI Centre in UCC.
University College Cork will be highlighting how Ireland can reduce its fossil fuel dependence through a #LetsGetToTen awareness campaign.
