Explore work-ready degree courses at DkIT through CAO's available places facility

With the Leaving Certificate results recently released, many students will be happy with their results and ready to take the next step towards their third-level journey.

However, since sitting their exams some students may have changed their mind on their selected course or wish to remain closer to home while they pursue their higher education options.  Others may have just missed out on required grades, and they now need to consider other pathways or alternatives.

Available Places at DkIT are courses that still have spaces available after CAO offers have been given out. If you are unhappy with the offer you received or if you haven't been given an offer through CAO, then you can apply for a new course through the Available Places facility on the CAO website from the 27^th August 2026.

Even if you didn’t submit a CAO application, you can still explore Available Places in DkIT, which offer a wide variety of degrees with places for study commencing in September 2026. There will be additional places available in degree areas such as Business, Computing, Arts, Hospitality, Nutrition and Health.

DkIT President Dr Diarmuid O’Callaghan said:
“The available places option gives students the opportunity to participate in a range of our fantastic courses and we welcome applications from potential students. Our programmes at DkIT are designed not only to prepare students academically, but also to equip them with the skills required to be work-ready and highly employable in their chosen industry. The results of the Higher Education Authority (HEA) 2024 Graduate Outcome Survey, released earlier this year found that of those surveyed 76.5% of DkIT graduates of undergraduate honours degrees were working full time and that DkIT had the highest percentage in full-time employment across Irish Third-Level Institutes of the graduates surveyed.”
