College Awareness Week (CAW)

College Awareness Week (CAW) will take place again this year from 23–29 November.

CAW encourages learners of all ages—but particularly those who are under‑represented in higher and further education—to explore the many education and career pathways available to them. From primary school students to adult learners, CAW is for everyone!

The campaign highlights access supports and diverse pathways such as apprenticeships, FET routes, tertiary degrees, and a wide range of career opportunities.

On the 24th of November at 10:30am we will be hosting a HEAR and DARE webinar for senior cycle students. Register here for the webinar. Supported by the Irish Universities Association (IUA) and National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals (NAPD), CAW, along with the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) and the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR), will provide information to secondary school students nationwide. Hear from staff members from TUS Athlone and the University of Limerick as they explain both schemes, as well as from students who have entered university through these routes.

CAW is a whole-school event, and teachers from different subject areas can get involved by highlighting careers and courses linked to their curriculum subjects using our guidance posters.

You can also visit collegeaware.ie to log and promote your CAW event, download our logo, access bilingual resources, and browse useful links for you and the learners you support.
