The National Strategic Framework for Lifelong Guidance and accompanying Strategic Action Plan (2024-2030) were published in December 2023.These publications were informed by contemporary national and international research including a public consultation on lifelong guidance in Ireland.
Within these strategic publications, thirty-five clear and broad-ranging actions were outlined to support and strengthen lifelong guidance in Ireland, and to advance and engage the National Policy Group’s (NPG’s) commitment to a shared vision of “a more unified guidance system which will allow all young people and adults to have access to high quality and appropriate lifelong guidance.” The NPG consists of five Departments including the Department of Education and Youth (DEY), Department of Social Protection (DSP), Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS), Department of Enterprise Tourism and Employment (DETE) and the Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE).
