Childhood poverty associated with higher risk of material deprivation and income poverty in Irish adults
Today, Monday 17 October 2022, the ESRI published a report titled Intergenerational poverty in Ireland.
This study - funded by Pobal - finds that in 2019, the likelihood of deprivation in adulthood was 35 percentage points higher among individuals who grew up in poverty when compared to individuals who grew up in ‘very good’ financial circumstances.
