WAM Opportunity: Bank of Ireland

The WAM Programme have two opportunities open for graduates with disabilities on Bank of Ireland’s Graduate Programme. Both positions are for a period of two years and are in the areas of Risk and IT. Graduates interested in applying do not have to have a background in Risk or IT however must have a minimum of Level 8 qualification to apply for the role.

The closing date for applications is 12pm,  Wednesday 21st April 2021.

GetAHEAD Student Internship – Applications Open

AHEAD are looking to hire a student with a disability to work on our GetAHEAD programme as a GetAHEAD Intern. This opportunity is a full-time fixed term contract for 10 weeks, running from 28th June until 3rd September 2021

The student who takes up this exciting opportunity will work alongside the GetAHEAD Co-ordinator for 10 weeks in the lead up to Building the Future careers event, our largest event of the year. Throughout the duration of the internship the successful applicant will build experience working on events, presenting, marketing and report writing.

No prior experience is required for this role as the successful candidate will develop the necessary skills throughout the internship. This is a paid opportunity; the rate of pay is €430.50 gross per week.

Closing date for application is Wednesday 14th April at 5pm.

Launch of InclusiveMobility.eu 22nd April 2021 9.30am CET

Inclusive Mobility Conference – EPFIME Project

AHEAD  have been involved in a two year project called EPFIME which explored mobility for students for with disabilities; we with the Flemish Ministry for Education and Training and the EPFIME project partners are pleased to invite you to the Final Conference ‘Making mobility programmes more inclusive for students with disabilities’, that will be held online on 22 April 2021, 09:30-13:00 CET.

During this conference, the InclusiveMobility.eu platform and specific tools to support Ministries of Education, National Agencies and higher education institutions to install a sustainable inclusive mobility strategy at national and institutional level will be launched.

During the final conference, you will have the opportunity to get introduced to the platform InclusiveMobility.eu and specific tools to support Ministries of Education, National Agencies and higher education institutions to install a sustainable inclusive mobility strategy at national and institutional level. A panel of guest speakers will discuss the project results and bring a broader perspective to the topic of Inclusive Mobility.

Towards Inclusion – Impacts, Responses and Resources

The Disability Services team from Trinity College have gathered together research on the impact of Covid-19 on students with disabilities. The article presents  what worked well and what needed improving in on-line teaching. They surveyed students on positive and negative experiences, quality of on-line teaching, availability of podcasted lectures and transcripts, staff training and communication on changes to exams and assessments. The team describe new resources they have developed to support students and academic staff.
