As we come to the end of another academic year, it's almost time to say goodbye to this year's graduating students. A huge congratulations to our Master of Fine Arts Directors & Designers, Acting & Stage Management & Technical Theatre students, staff, tutors & our partners who made this year's Gradfest such a success.

We'll be back at the end of the month to start our new academic year and welcome a new batch of students to The Lir, but until then there are still lots of ways for you to train with us. We've just added some new short courses to our programme and our Lir at Work, corporate communications courses at the end of this month are open for booking.

Want to join our team? We have a number of positions available in our venue and technical teams, and we're also seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified movement teachers to help with the delivery of our courses.

We look forward to seeing you at The Lir soon.

Study at The Lir Academy

Applications for our undergraduate courses for the academic year starting 23/24 will open on Tuesday 20 September. If you are interested in applying, why not talk to us at our upcoming Open Day, or at Higher Options later this month.

Open day - Saturday 5 November
Join us for our annual undergraduate open day on Saturday 5 November. There will be two presentations on the day, one for students interested in our Bachelor in Stage Management and Technical Theatre, and another for anyone who wants to learn more about our Bachelor in Acting and Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre.

Our admissions team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Find out more about our courses, how to apply, tour the facilities and chat with current students about studying at The Lir Academy.

No booking required and all students and their parents are welcome to attend.

Higher Options, 21 - 23 September, RDS
We'll be at Higher Options in the RDS on 21-23 September. If you'd like to talk to us about our courses and how to make and application you will find us on the Trinity College Dublin stand.

Student accommodation - can you help?

Many of you are probably aware of the current housing crisis facing students in Dublin. With only a few weeks until the start of the new academic year, this is posing huge problems for students preparing to study at The Lir Academy.

As thousands of students face huge pressure to find housing, we have had a number of requests from students for help sourcing accommodation. The reality of the situation is that many of them may not be able to accept their college places if they cannot find somewhere to live.

We are appealing to our friends and supporters who live in the surrounding areas and may have a spare room in their house to rent, to consider prioritising it for a Lir student. This is your chance to support a student and help them access the educational opportunities open to them as they prepare to embark on their training.

We have opened an accommodation list for anyone who is able to offer suitable accommodation to our incoming students. If you would like to be added to the list, we would love to hear from you.

Please contact [email protected] if you can help.

2019 acting graduate Alex Murphy (The Young Offenders) tells us about the Lir Student Resilience Fund, and the impact a donation from you can have for our students

Our Student Resilience fund provides much needed access to onsite counselling services and supports mental health care for our students.

For every Euro you donate, our sponsor will match your donation up to a value of €30,000. €50 covers one hour of counselling, and all donations - big or small - can help provide much needed support.

You could make a huge impact by donating today and providing much needed mental health supports to our students - every euro counts.
