Computer Animation or Computer Games and Extended Reality
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) was delighted to recently showcase some of their online Masters student’s phenomenal and innovative project work from the MSc in Computer Animation and the MSc in Computer Games and Extended Reality. These incredible creations were shown as part of a live stream showcase using Microsoft Teams.
This virtual event facilitated the presentation of a diverse variety of sensational projects including animation, games and extended reality designs were introduced, showing imaginative use of VFX, immersive storytelling and a convergence of emerging technologies. These projects were driven as a result of each of the students’ own unique individual research interests and a culmination of skills that they had developed over the course of the two years online MSc. These courses have seen the students develop strong creative technical skills for equipping them to work in the animation, games and XR industries.
Jackie Toal, lecturer at DkIT said, “The projects presented were very inspiring to watch and it is a credit to the students’ on all their hard work, stamina, drive and commitment in producing such high-quality industry standard outputs”. Jackie further added “feedback from this event was that those who joined the live stream, thoroughly enjoyed viewing the range of creative projects and listening to the processes, tools and techniques that students used to create their projects. This showcase proved insightful and informative for the audience and congratulations to all the students and their achievements”.
Both of these courses are 100% online with evening time classes to allow flexibility of learning and both are Springboard funded. The computer animation industry in Ireland is thriving and DkIT Computer Animation Graduates are well regarded within the industry. Graduates of this course can become a future Computer Animator, 3D Visualiser, CG Generalist, and Pipeline Supervisor within the computer animation and games sectors.
Graduates of the Msc in Computer Games and Extended Reality are also in high demand and DkIT is a go to for Industry looking to recruit the future stars of Game Engine Development, Programmers, 3D Artists or AR or VR Developers.
