AONTAS’ September Campaign

Community Education Map Campaign 2023

This September, we invite you to join us in celebrating Community Education with the launch of our Community Education Map.

Throughout September we are calling on Community Education organisations to #PutYourselfOnTheMap. If you work in Community Education or know people who do, please get involved and spread the word! Encourage your peers to put themselves on the map and show the amazing work of Community Education organisations across the whole island of Ireland. Community Education organisations can #PutYourselfOnTheMap through the form on our website.

We have been privileged to collaborate with the Community Education Facilitators’ Association (CEFA) in developing this resource we know will bring lots of value to the sector.

This campaign is part of our 2022-2023 project ‘Inclusive Recovery and Transformation: Adult Learning Post-Covid-19’ as part of the New European Agenda for Adult Learning.

AONTAS Northern Ireland Community Education Census (2021-2022) Launch

Friday, 8th September, Parliament Buildings, Stormont, Belfast

Join us in Belfast for the launch of the first-ever census of adult learning provision, delivered in connection with Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations in Northern Ireland. At the launch we will explore the major findings of this research, and how community education can be celebrated and supported. We’ll hear from participants and panelists from the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action, the Department for the Economy, SOLAS, CO2 and ICTU.

Activating the SDGs in the Adult & Community Sector Webinar

Friday, 29th September, Online

Join us online to explore Ireland’s role in reaching the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and what this means for Adult and Community Education learners and educators. We'll hear from experts from the Development sector on their experiences and knowledge and explore examples of how Adult and Community groups are already acting on the SDGs.
