World Book Online – Free Home Access

World Book is a trusted encyclopedia containing thousands of informational articles with stunning illustrations, videos, interactive maps, research help, and activities.

During the duration of school closures, World Book Online is providing complimentary access to their eBooks. There are about 700 proprietary titles for ages 4-18 and over 2,500 Project Gutenberg titles.

Britannica LaunchPacks – Free Home Access

Britannica provides over 1600 LaunchPacks covering the Humanities and Social Sciences, and 1800 for the Sciences. Organised into manageable topic areas, these pre-made collections of articles, images, videos and primary sources help to support learners.

Britannica has kindly offered FREE access to their Science and Humanities LaunchPacks. Access is available through the Scoilnet website.

Irish Newspaper Archive – Home Access for Teachers

Scoilnet is proud to announce home access for teachers. In order to get access, teachers will need to be signed-in with their Scoilnet Account.

The Irish Newspaper Archive provides unrivaled access to primary source documents through national and local newspapers covering hundreds of years of Irish history. Over 60 newspapers are included in the archive with some dating back as far as 1738.

Virtual Tours

Embrace the virtual world by taking your class on an inspirational journey to one of Ireland’s landmarks or explore specific spaces in a Gallery.

The Scoilnet virtual tour collection highlights some tours that students or pupils can take from the comfort of their home. Examples include the National Gallery of Ireland, EPIC musuem, Vatican musuem, and the International Space Station.
