Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless TD has officially launched the Springboard+ 2025 programme, announcing almost 8,000 free and subsidised places on higher education courses. The initiative offers thousands of opportunities for people across Ireland to upskill or reskill, with a strong focus on ‘futureproofing’ careers in a rapidly evolving job market.  For more information see here

Upskill for the Future with a Springboard+ Course at Maynooth University
Looking to boost your employability, pivot into a growing industry, or gain a competitive edge? Maynooth University is offering a range of Springboard+ funded postgraduate programmes designed to equip you with the skills most in demand by today’s employers.

The Irish Universities Association (IUA) Deans of Graduate Studies, in association with Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and Maynooth University, will host their annual symposium on doctoral supervision at Maynooth University on 12th June 2025. This year’s conference theme is “Reflecting on Doctoral Supervision: Innovations, Challenges, and  Future Directions".

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless and Minister of State Marian Harkin launched the Skillnet MMC Accelerate platform at the National Construction Training Campus, Mount Lucas. The new national online platform aims to empower Ireland’s construction sector to meet its housing and infrastructure targets by fast-tracking the adoption of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).

 
Life Long Learning Rates on the Rise

A recent report shows Ireland’s Life Long Learning (LLL) participation rate has increased to 16%. The report highlights significant progress with ‘formal’ and ‘non-formal’ learning with the Mid-East region ranking well.  Full report here
