NYCI’s Youth Arts Summer School for 2022 will focus on digital music, song writing & recording. Combining some online sessions with a 2-day residential in Maynooth University, this training programme aims to support youth workers and youth arts practitioners to gain the knowledge as well as the practical and creative skills to set up recording hubs in their own youth space and lead young people through their own engagement with song writing and production.
This practical and in-depth training aims to provide participants with the skills, tools and software to set up remote writing, production and recording studios for innovative, creative practice with young people. The STEAM element of the programme will further equip participants with an innovative and highly creative tool kit when designing music programmes with young people.
Through the Youth Arts Summer School mentoring process, participants will be supported to create a six-week programme ready for implementation over the summer months and an online follow-up session will be provided to help embed learning, support peer support and sharing of practice.
