KERRY COLLEGE OPEN WEEK '23
A Fantastic Event

Kerry College Open Week 2023 was a huge success with hundreds of students, career changers and jobseekers attending campus locations across Kerry.  

In the Monavalley Campus attendees had the opportunity to visit the Skills Village which was showcasing Stone Crafting, Plumbing, Fibre Technician, Medical Administration, Overhead Lines and many more apprenticeships and courses. Monavalley also hosted a careers event Monday evening, catering to career-changers and upskillers. 

Clash Rd Campus was open to the public on Tuesday with the options to take a guided tour, speak to current learners and staff, or simply explore what's on offer.

Killorglin Campus were onsite in the Monavalley Campus all week, exhibiting their Outdoor Education and Training courses. Visitors had the chance to breathe under water with a scuba respirator, try their hand balancing on a surfboard, experience VR mountain biking and much more.

School groups and visitors were delighted to explore the brand new Listowel Campus on Thursday, welcomed by Principal Stephen Goulding and his wonderful staff.

This week was a wonderful opportunity for prospective learners to talk to staff and current learners, and explore campus facilities to see the broad range of courses on offer at the different campuses.

 

PARENT/APPLICANT Information Evening

Principal Mr. Stephen Goulding welcomed guest speakers Miriam Magner Flynn and James and Timmy from The Two Norries podcast to the Parent/Guardian/Applicant Information Session at the Clash Road Campus on Tuesday night.

There was a great turn out for the event with people attending from all over the Kingdom. Deborah Roche from South Kerry said:

''My oldest daughter is in 6th year at the moment and the whole idea of third level is overwhelming. I thought tonight was great...great information and a really fantastic introduction to Further Education and Training options.''

APPRENTICESHIP    Evening

2,000 visitors attended the Apprenticeship Open Evening in the Monavalley Campus on Thursday evening, over double the number of visitors last year.   

They had the chance  to meet Kerry based employers who take on apprentices on a regular basis. They also had the opportunity to hear what it was like to work as an apprentice and build a career ‘earning while learning’. 

There were over 35 employers at the event this year and we would like to thank each and every one of them for coming along. Some  included Dairymaster, ESB Networks, Energywise Ireland, FIT, Liebherr, O’Carroll Engineering, OPW, Mayo Sligo ETB  (Butchery Apprenticeship), TLI Group, Torc Precision Engineering Ltd, Irish Naval Service  to name but a few. 

 

LISTOWEL
Open Day

Listowel Campus held it's open day on Thursday where the staff in the Campus were delighted to welcome visitors to see their brand new Campus.

They had the chance to meet with teachers and current learners and see all the courses that Listowel Campus had to offer.  

The local Intreo and Cara Credit Union were also available on the day to offer advice and Spin SW were there providing entertainment for the afternoon.
