New Traineeship Developed by Combilift

CMETB in conjunction with Combilift Ltd. have collaborated to develop a Traineeship to prepare learners for work as future engineers with Combilift Ltd. The aim is to combine theory and practical industry experience to provide a solid understanding of Engineering before the trainee enters the workplace in Combilift Ltd.

Combilift, which manufactures construction machinery, including forklifts and straddle carriers, was founded 20 years ago and currently employs 550 people. Last month the company announced an additional two hundred new jobs at the opening of it’s a new multi-million euro global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Annahagh, Monaghan. The €50 million  Global Headquarters and manufacturing facility was officially opened by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Minister for Business, Enterprise, and Innovation Heather Humphreys T.D.
The company said the new factory would double its output over the next five years.

Is This Course Right For You?

A traineeship combines classroom-based learning with work based learning which is delivered in a host company thus providing the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and competence within a supportive working environment.

What Will You Study?

Trainees will complete 11 weeks in industry, working with Combilift Ltd. and 27 weeks studying in Monaghan Institute. Work Placement is spread across the year in blocks of two/three weeks.
In 2017, Combilift employed 100% of the OEM Traineeship Class of 2016/2017.
