Scholarships & Sports Schemes

Here at MIC, we have a number of scholarships and schemes to help you on your third-level journey.

This year we have added a very special scholarship to our suite of supports in memory of MIC graduate, Ashling Murphy.

The Ashling Murphy Scholarship, which is valued at €4,000, will be awarded to an incoming Bachelor of Education student for their exceptional achievement and talent in the field of traditional Irish music.

Entrance Scholarships
Each year, MIC awards up to 50 Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships, valued at €2,000 each, on the basis of results obtained in the Leaving Certificate.

Sports Scholarships
Our Elite Sport Scholarship Scheme is designed for students who have excelled in their chosen sport. This year MIC is offering one Gold Scholarship valued at €4,000, two Silver Scholarships valued at €2,000 each, and two Bronze Scholarships valued at €1,000 each. Applications are now open and will close on 1 May.

CAO Points Concession Sports Scheme
Up to 10 places across all undergraduate programmes will be reserved this year under our CAO Points Concession Sports Scheme for students who have excelled in their chosen sport. Successful applicants may be eligible for a points reduction of up to 40 points below the first round CAO points cut-off for the programme they have applied for. Applications are now open and will close on 1 May.

Uversity Scholarships
Uversity's Scholarships are for adult learners who wish to complete a bachelor’s degree for the first time. Those without children are eligible for a €5,000 scholarship and those with children can qualify for €7,000. Applications will open on 1 February.
