Mooting & Debating King’s Inns excels in the International Negotiation Competition in Rome The King’s Inns team came third in the world (jointly with the team from Canada). This year, the competition was held in Rome, Italy. King’s Inns was ably represented by Justin McAleese and Carla Fusciardi Wallace, who were both students on the full-time Barrister-at-Law degree course during the past academic year. Justin and Carla worked as a team, negotiating their way through a range of practical scenarios against other teams from all around the globe.
Members Alumni Stories 12th edition – Diane Sutton speaks to John Freeman BL Qualified since 2004, John is currently a practising barrister at The Bar of Ireland with a particular emphasis on banking and financial services, disciplinary / regulatory and defamation. “I remember being inspired for my final exams as my mum gave me a letter which was in her family. It’s an original letter of 1829 which was sent with an opinion of Daniel O’Connell.”, says John when explaining his path to King’s Inns.''

Are you a book and law lover? Our Book Club is a great place to share your love of literature and reading in a nurturing and provocative space. The first Book Club meeting of the academic and legal year 2023–2024 will take place on Monday, November 13, at 7 pm on Zoom. The book to be discussed is 'The Murderer and the Taoiseach' by Harry McGee (Hachette Books, 2023). Open to all students from all courses plus members, staff and the wider King’s Inns community. Celebrating a Century In Plain Sight: new portrait to be unveiled on October 19 The In Plain Sight initiative was created, together with The Bar of Ireland, in response to a notable under-representation of female subjects displayed in our collections. The artist and sculptor Vera Klute has been announced as the latest artist to be commissioned. The 2023 Commission is of Frances Moran SC, who become the first female Senior Counsel in 1941, across both Ireland and Britain.
The portrait will be unveiled on October 19 at King’s Inns, prior to Members' Dining. Open to all members. Book to attend >
