A New Trend
For people working in the area of mental health, self-compassion can be truly valuable for those they help and also for themselves.Mindfulness is an essential component of self-compassion as it gives us the space and awareness we need to help us to cultivate a kinder attitude towards ourselves.
The practice of self-compassion is a recent trend in the world of mindfulness and its value in relation to anxiety, depression, self-acceptance and self-development has been underlined in many research studies. This one day workshop will be facilitated by Padraig O’Morain.

Two-Day Workshop on Understanding Trauma
Comprehensive workshop providing a thorough
understanding of what trauma is and how to engage with it safely
Traumatic events confront human beings with the extremities of helplessness and terror, disrupting the ordinary systems of care that afford us a sense of control, connection, and meaning (Herman,1992). The importance of evaluating the effects of trauma is critical, and has substantial implications for case-formulation and treatment planning in therapy (Cloitre, et al., 2009). Therefore, before mental health practitioners can work in depth with a client’s trauma they need an understanding of what trauma is and how to engage with it safely. This two-day workshop will look at those initial requirements.
