NCGE WSG Framework: Resources **NEW**

School developed resources
During the course of the NCGE Pilot Project Looking at Whole School Guidance in Junior Cycle; a number of participating schools developed resources to support their work in Whole School Guidance. These schools have agreed to make these resources available as they can support the work of all schools participating in planning, designing and delivering their Whole School Guidance programme.

Career State Inventory (CSI)
The Career State Inventory – subject choices version is an adaptation of the Career State Inventory for use in Ireland with secondary school students making subject choices. This may be useful in identifying students in need of support regarding their subject choices and can be used in conjunction with the Subject Choices Handbook resource.

NCGE FET Guidance update

In NCGE’s work on the redevelopment of the Adult Guidance Management System for the AEGS, during November 2018 we hosted 2 national consultation days (in Mullingar and in Dublin) . 90 members of staff including Directors of FET, Adult Education Officers and staff of the Adult Education Guidance Services gathered for two facilitated days of presentations and discussions focusing on considerations for the development of the AGMS in support of FET guidance services and planning for ETB FET guidance services into the future. In December 2018 NCGE re-launched its bi-annual publication as Guidance Matters’Guidance counsellors and other guidance professionals are invited to submit content for inclusion in the next issue.

Euroguidance Ireland

Irish Reference Group for EU Initiatives in Education and Skills
Euroguidance Ireland presented an overview of Euroguidance in Ireland and Europe at the Sixth Meeting of the Irish Reference Group for EU Initiatives in Education and Skills in Dublin on 9 October 2018. It was organised by the Quality Qualifications Ireland agency which includes Europass and NARIC Ireland. The meeting’s focus was on current European initiatives; to share emerging findings from new projects and discuss potential developments affecting learner mobility. Erasmus+ Potential Brexit Implications
In January 2019 the European Commission sent an official announcement to all Erasmus+ National Agencies about measures proposed concerning Erasmus+ learning mobility and Brexit. The Commission has now set up a list of frequently asked questions concerning this.

Study Visits to NCGE / Euroguidance Ireland
NCGE / Euroguidance Ireland host regular study visits with the aim of supporting the sharing of best practice in guidance among guidance practitioners and other relevant professionals. Between the 19th and 21st of February 2019 we will host fellow European guidance practitioners in considering ‘Providing meaningful guidance in a Multicultural context – focusing on the New Skills Agenda in Upskilling Pathways’
