Bursary makes Hairdressing Course Affordable – David Marshall announced a bursary for new students at the David Marshall School of Hairdressing. The bursary, in memory of David Marshall’s friend and mentor Vidal Sassoon, is called the David Marshall / Vidal Sassoon Bursary.

This year, we have launched a bursary for those who want to pursue a career in hairdressing.  I attach a note about it and would be delighted if you could carry details on your website and in correspondence with Career Guidance Counsellors.

This bursary has a number of positives:

1. It is a fabulous  start for students – who can say that they won a bursary to do a course in hairdressing

2. It makes our course more affordable and our course has an excellent reputation

3. This award goes to a number of students, not just one, so everyone has a chance of succeed

It is designed as a support to help fund new and talented people to study hairdressing at the highest level.

A bursary of €2,000 will be awarded to new students at the David Marshall School of Hairdressing, studying on each of the diploma courses beginning 27 May 2013 and 10 September 2013.
The bursary will be awarded based on an interview, and will be provided to new students who have the potential and the ambition to become world-class hair stylists.

David Marshall said: “I was extremely fortunate in my apprenticeship with Vidal Sassoon in London in the 1970s. His teaching and encouragement still resonate with me 40 years later. It has always been my dream to foster young talent in the same way. This bursary goes some way to making it more affordable for young people to study hairdressing and to learn the techniques that gave me the edge throughout my career.”

There is an Open Evening at the David Marshall School of Hairdressing on Wednesday, 10 July at 12 Fade Street / 27 South Great George’s Street.
