Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) entry is possible for those with an existing qualification, such as a Diploma or Level 7 Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

This part-time programme is delivered on one teaching day per week, or one full weekend per month. Learners can choose from either a weekly Tuesday or Saturday option, commencing September 2022.
Alternatively, learners can attend once a month in block format (Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday once a month).
Future Developments in Statutory Regulation:
Regulation for counsellors and psychotherapists in Ireland is currently under review. One element of the proposed change by the statutory regulation organisation, CORU, is the creation of a minimum standard of education required for practice. While CORU has yet to establish a registration board or set academic standards for therapy training, it is accepted that the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) will be utilised in such a process.
