Bohemian Football Club comes together with BIMM Institute Dublin to launch a new third-level scholarship for those currently or formerly housed in Direct Provision made possible by sales of their Bob Marley 2022 away shirt.
2022, 21st December 2022: BIMM Institute Dublin, home to Ireland’s most talented developing new artists, today launch the scholarship in partnership with Bohemian F.C.
The BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music is Ireland’s first third-level degree course in contemporary music and is open to those who wish to study Drums, Guitar, Bass, Vocals and Songwriting. It is a practical and vocational, full time degree course validated by Technological University Dublin (TUD).
Bohemian Football Club is delighted to today to launch this very special scholarship to ensure a former or current resident of Direct Provision (DP) can access a degree in music. We have worked, through the Movement of asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI), with people in DP for many years and called for an end to this system alongside Amnesty International. This scholarship has been made possible with funds from the sale of our 2022 Bob Marley away shirt and the commitment to use a percentage of profits to bring music and sport to people in the Asylum system.
Application to the scholarship will be open to all current or former residents of Irelands Direct Provision system including mature students. Applicants interested in applying for this scholarship should first apply for the BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music via the CAO at www.cao.ie, using the course code TU 961 before the deadline of February 1st, 2023. Following that initial deadline, CAO Late Applications will be open until 1st May 2023.
