Institute of Technology Carlow is running a Computing Summer Camp from the 5th to the 8th of June 2018 from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day.
The camp will introduce a number of areas of computing to students in a fun, interactive and team based environment. This will provide them with a taste of studying computing in college. Students will learn how to programme computers (write their own software), develop an interactive web site, investigate a computer network and assemble and disassemble computer hardware. The students will not need to buy anything for the camp, all materials and resources are provided at the Institute of Technology.
The summer camp is open to anyone sitting the Leaving Certificate in 2019 or 2020. There are, however, a limited number of places on the camp; the cost is €40 per student, which includes lunch each day.
Please find enclosed a poster for the Computing Summer Camp with the relevant information and I would be grateful if you could display the poster on your school noticeboard and communicate the information to any students who might be interested.
To apply for the camp or if you have any queries about the camp, please e-mail email@example.com or call the Science Office at 059 917 5500. The closing date for applying for the summer camp is 5pm Monday 28th of May.
