Suicide or Survive’s Supporters Programme

Suicide or survive is delighted to announce new dates in Dublin for its hugely popular Supporters Programme. The programme will take place on Fridays the 13th 20th and 27th of April in the Carmelite Centre in Aunger Street in Dublin.  I have attached a poster here for your information.

This programme is for anyone who is supporting a family member, friend, neighbour, work colleague or someone else in their life who is struggling with their mental health.  The programme covers the area of self-care for the supporter and teaches skills to enhance the supporters ability to connect, empower and support forward movement with the person they are supporting.  We also cover basic advocacy skills and give information on supports and signposting.  Feedback from people who have attended the programme indicates that they have found it hugely beneficial in terms of their own self-care and that they feel more skilled in terms of providing support.

The programme runs for 2 ½ days over a 3 week period from 9.30 – 4.30 on the first two days and from 9.30 – 1 on the last day. We are in a position to offer this programme at the highly subsidised cost of €75 per person because of our amazing funders the NOSP, the Iris O’Brien Foundation, our funders and people who run fundraising events for us throughout the country.  The cost covers two facilitators for each day, all course materials and refreshments throughout each of the 3 days and a light lunch on days 1 and 2.  If anyone has a difficulty meeting this cost we are happy to discuss a reduction, to do so they can call the office on 1890 577577.

To find out more about the programme you can click this link .  To apply for a place on the programme anyone interested can contact Catherine our Programme Coordinator on or 1890 577 577.

Please feel free to pass this information about the programme to anyone else you think might be interested in attending or anyone who may know someone who is.
