What is horticulture?
This new one year course would both prepare students for the ever expanding Irish horticulture sector and provides students with the knowledge and skills relating to the horticulture and gardening industry. Students will have a mixture of classroom-based subjects, practical experience, mandatory work placement, and independent study. This course is designed to meet new needs for people interested in a career in horticulture, setting up their own horticultural business, or who want to introduce self-sufficiency into their lifestyle.

Career Opportunities
This course will be run in conjunction with the Institute of Technology in Blanchardstown and will facilitate progression on to their level 6, 7, and 8 programmes. Graduates may also pursue a horticulture course in UCD or DIT as well as certificate or degree courses in Institutes of Technology around the country or in the UK. Alternatively students may seek immediate employment in a range of companies and projects that seek graduates with a horticulture background.
Entry Requirements
•    Leaving Cert, LCVP or LCA
•    Mature Students of all backgrounds
•    Other equivalent qualification
All applicants will be interviewed regardless of previous qualifications.
